Kappa Omega Chapter – North Carolina State University

The Kappa Omega chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. planted its roots on the campus of North Carolina State University on November 13, 1987. The charter was established under the direction of the Beta Lambda Sigma chapter in Raleigh, NC by Shenita P. Mangum, Franita Barber, Hazel E. Williams, Monica Moorer, and Heather E. Moore.

The chapter maintained a strong presence throughout the late 80’s and early 90’s. Due to the difficulties Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was facing at other universities, members of Kappa Omega contributed to the charter established on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill, Lambda Psi.
